What is Reed?

A native macOS RSS reader that pulls all your sources — websites, YouTube channels, Are.na and Backloggd — into one clean, unified feed.

What sources can I add?

YouTube channels, Are.na channels, Backloggd, and any standard RSS or Atom feed. Paste a link and Reed detects the source type automatically.

Do I need an account?

No. Reed is fully local — no sign-up, no login. Your feeds live on your Mac.

Can I share my feeds with someone?

Yes. Group your sources into a profile and share the set with a friend — they can import it in a tap.

Can I watch YouTube inside the app?

Yes — YouTube items open in a built-in player, so you don't have to leave Reed.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac running macOS 26 or later. If macOS says it can't verify the developer on first launch, right-click the app and choose Open.

How much does it cost?

Free.
